However, the fact that this motion was adopted by consensus highlights a disturbing trend – the international community has become all too familiar with the RSF's tactics.

The siege of al Obeid bears an unsettling resemblance to last year's takeover of al Fashir in North Darfur. The RSF employed similar tactics in both instances, echoing the genocidal playbook they used in Darfur.
