New NASA Images Reveal Crater Left Behind by SpaceX Rocket Impact on the Moon The latest NASA images of the crater left behind by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket impact on the Moon's surface have sparked both fascination and concern among space enthusiasts.
The crater, which is approximately 60 feet wide and 10 feet deep, was formed from the collision of the 39 foot long rocket at an astonishing 5,400 miles per hour.
The images themselves are striking, revealing dark and bright rays emanating from the crash site, as well as fresh material excavated from deeper below the surface.
