The allegations of financial irregularities levied by co chairperson Y R Sadasiva Reddy against chairman Manan Kumar Mishra are the latest salvo in a long standing battle for transparency and accountability within India's legal establishment.

The controversy began when Mishra, also a BJP MP, barred law graduates from Hyderabad's NALSAR University of Law from being registered as advocates.
